Days before the 2009 NBA draft, rumors are circulating that the Boston Celtics are seeking to trade former University of Kentucky standout Rajon Rondo. According to Yahoo Sports, the Celtics approached the Detriot Pistons with a package deal that would see Rondo and Ray Allen go to the Pistons and Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Rodney Stuckey head to the Celtics. Over the weekend, the deal was pitched to the Pistons, not by GM Danny Angie, but by a "low level" executive within the Cetics organization. It is rumored the Pistons immediately rejected the deal and nothing further was discussed.
Of course, Danny Angie once again silenced the idea that the Celtics are trying to trade Rondo. After having his named tossed around with trades rumors to the Kings and Suns, it is becoming more difficult to deny the Celtics are wanting to trade Rondo.
