Friday Evening Highlights ...

>> Friday, July 17, 2009

After a busy work week, I'm sure everyone is glad the weekend is here. Here are a few Friday evening highlights ...

- "The most trusted man in America," Walter Cronkite, died this evening at the age of 92. The legendary anchorman passed away at 7:42 p.m. at his Manhattan home with his family by his side.

- Tiger Woods has missed the 138th British Open Championship by one stroke. The world's number 1 golfer was sent back home early after shooting a second round 4 over 74. This is the first time Woods has missed a cut since the U.S. Open in 2006. Tom Watson is the current leader at 5 under par.

- I know Derrick has already posted this on the sister blog, but it is worth mentioning again. Lebron James was in Lexington, Kentucky today hanging out with the UK team members who were in town. Jordan Crawford failed to make the trip.

- Houston Rockets big man, Yao Ming, has elected to have surgery on his fractured left foot. He will most likely miss the entire 2009-2010 NBA season.

- Pacman Jones "makes it rain" video.

- The Miami Heat have reportedly offered Lamar Odum a contract for a cool 35 milli.

- David Beckham and that one dude are friends again.
