Farwell Rodney...

Rodney Harrison is finally hanging up his shoulder pads and helmet after 15 years of playing for the Chargers and most notably, the Patriots. Rodney has always been known as a dirty player. (He has been fined numerous times and even suspended for a game for a helmet to helmet hit on Jerry Rice. Come on how are you going to hit a legend like that?). I am not hating, I actually love how he played the game.

Rodney Harrison has been injured a lot here in the last recent years. The guy always played like a maniac out on the field. I, for one, loved watcching him play. It hurts my soul to think that he came and visited with my Raiders and Al didn't offer him a contract before he signed with the Patriots. This guy is an old school football player that understands the game isn't about making friends but it's bout trying to take someone's head off.

He has already taken a position on NBC as an analyst for this coming year. He did a good job during the playoffs last year as a guest analyst. Although people, unless your a Patriot's fan, despised this guy for how he played. I think he will be missed. The NFL is running out of players like him. If the NFL keeps putting in these stupid rules about how you can't touch the quarterback, then you will see less and less players that play the way Harrison played. The NFL might as well go ahead and throw red jersies and a pair panties on the qaurterbacks to go ahead and make it official.

So thank you Rodney, for being an actual football player and retiring from the game when it was time to hang them up, unlike some other players who have trouble doing so. *cough* Brett Favre *cough*
