Being a Washington Redskins fan, you become used to the rumors that swirl when every big-time free agent graces the market. However, even I am in shock that the 'Skins are contemplating signing Mike Vick, and don't believe the bullshit about them not being interested at the moment. When something leaks about the Skins singing someone, it's usually the truth.
I'm all for Mike Vick coming back to the league, but the 'Skins and their fragile reputation as a big-spending franchise doesn't need the publicity that will come with this signing. They have a possible playoff contender in place and the last thing they need to do is bring in the outside distractions that will come with Mike Vick.
Stephon Marbury has decided to start up his own streaming internet show of himself here recently. I had heard about this and had yet to check it out yet. So I just went over to youtube and found this gem (at the bottom of the blog). This is a caption from his streaming show that shows him consuming vaseline. Yes, vaseline. He gave some kind of cracked out speech about how someone's grandma said it would cure sore throat? I guess...This might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Is he even getting paid to do this? It appears it's just from a web cam. Maybe Starbury is just attention starved and doing anything to create a buzz about himself again? Because he hasn't mattered on a basketball court in some time now.
Remember this is the same Marbury who left a nice young Minnesota nucleus because he couldn't accept making less money than Friggin Kevin Garnett. The same KG who has consistently been a top 5 player in the league pretty much his whole career. Something that Marbury has ever yet to sniff coming close too.
I think Kirk Lazarus said it best in Tropic Thunder, when he stated "Everybody knows you never go full retard." Listen to him Stephon, your killing your image. Check out the clip..
You know we're not exactly inclined to talk about the sport that is known as baseball, but slow times call for desperate measures.
The Philadelphia Phillies landed another ace to bolster their rotation and increase their chances to return to the World Series. Cliff Lee will be leaving the Cleveland to join the Phillies immediately, in a deal that involved four minor-leaguers from the Phillies farm system.
Lee, who was spectacular all last season when he won the Cy Young, is putting up another impressive season with a 3.14 ERA and a 7-9 record. Teaming Lee with Cole Hamels provides Philadelphia with one of the best starting rotations in the National League and two quality number 1 starters.
