Clinton As a Blond ...

>> Thursday, July 30, 2009

Earlier this month, pictures of Clinton Portis hit the internet with blond hair and blond beard. Luckily for Sisqo, Portis had re-dyed his hair before training camp begin. When asked why C.P. went blond in the first place, he had this to say:

"Why did I go blond?" he repeated. "I just felt like doing something different. You know, I think even with that, from what I hear, now I'm gay? I don't think there's a woman in the United States of America that would say I'm gay. So, you know, I don't hang around men, I don't live a private life, there's constantly people around me. You know, I did it because that was something that I felt like doing. At the moment it was like, 'Ohhh, I want to do something weird and different,' and that's what I did, I dyed my hair blond. You know, it wasn't an attention seeker. I actually was out of the country, I left the country after I did it, so I wasn't even over here once I did it. So it was just an experiment."

Too much attention caused him to dye it back because C.P. isn't much of an attention seeker. I guess the references to Sisqo didn't help the situation. Of course I think he looks more like Carlton Banks dressed as Macaulay Culkin.

Damn, Even Big Papi?

Ah, the wild and crazy world of Major League Baseball and the "infinite" list of PED users brought forth some very disappointing news for baseball fans, especially the Red Sox Nation. The man known affectionately as Big Papi, David Ortiz, has been confirmed as a positive PED user during the 2003 survey ran by the MLB.

Ortiz has been a primary proponent of stronger PED testing within the major league system and constantly chastised those players who were failing their random drug screenings for PED usage. However, it appears Oritz was the guilty playing innocent the entire time.

One now has to wonder how exactly the BoSox 2003 World Series title should be viewed, because both of its key components, Ortiz and Ramirez, have now been linked to PED usage during the 2003 season. Does it deserve an asterisk like all the records from this era will receive?

Odom staying put

Lamar Odom is staying with the world champion Los Angles Lakers afterall. It was well known that the Miami Heat and gaurd Dwayne Wade were trying their best to lure away Odom back to the east coast. It appeared as if this deal was going to happen, but then Jerry Buss essentially offered Odom the same contract he had turned down earlier. Only this time, Odom agreed.

This is a smart play for both the Lakers and Lamar Odom. He knows the offense and plus he now has a ring to go with this up and down career. If he had went to Miami, he would have made the playoffs but probably wouldn't have sniffed a NBA Finals' appearance.

Resigning Odom, along with the signing of Ron Artest, makes the Lakers a strong favorite to repeat as champions next year. Can the Black Mamba along with this new crazy ass teammate lead the Lakers to their 6th championship of the century?
