After winning the Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods will be fined by the PGA for making a statement in violation of Section VI-D of the PGA handbook. The relevant section reads: “It is an obligation of membership to refrain from comments to the news media that unreasonably attack or disparage tournaments, sponsors, fellow members, players, or PGA Tour.”
Tiger did not like the fact that he and Harrington were put on the clock at the par-5 16th, which caused Harrington to rush 3 shots and triple bogey the hole. Wood's stated he told Harrington he was sorry the tour official who put them on the clock got in the way of a great battle. Personally, I think Tiger could care less about the fine because I believe he can afford it.
