Marquis Teague, the #1 point guard prospect in the 2011 class, has long been considered a Louisville lean. There have been several moments when the recruiting gurus expected Teague to pull the trigger and become a member of Pitino's Cardinals. However, in the past few days, a seismic shift may have occurred in his recruitment.
Rumors are beginning to swirl from Jerry Meyer to Evan Daniels and throughout other recruiting circles that Coach Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats are now firmly in the driver's seat for the highly touted guard.
Teague, whom is possibly announcing his decision this weekend, may now enter the Calipari lineage of great point guard prospects and has the opportunity to set the ball rolling on an unbelievable 2011 class for the University of Kentucky.
A class that could possibly consist of the top three ranked recruits in the entire country. Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague and Quincy Miller are now the makings of a class that rivals and even trumps that of the Fab Five and Sensational Six on paper.
Can Calipari pull off the unbelievable? Can he steal Marquis Teague, whom was considered a Pitino lock(family ties), and turn him into a Wildcat? If so, get ready for a melt down of epic proportions in Louisville, Indiana...oops, I mean Kentucky.
